The Exhibition mounted at the Mall at Marathon on the 28th July was a great success and we thank the volunteers who helped. The event Take Back the Night held on 13th August was well organized and attended by over 200 concerned citizens. We congratulate the organizers on a job well done!
Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, 24th September at the 10am at the J. Whitney Pinder building on Collins Avenue. We hope as many volunteers as possible will be able to attend.
There are presently plans to celebrate the Day to End Sexual Violence in the Caribbean, which the Centre recognizes every year. September 29 is recognized as “The Day to End Sexual Violence in The Caribbean”. This year we will once more commemorate the event with “a night of hope and healing”.
“A Night for Hope and Healing” is an evening to share poetry, songs, stories, art, and music as an expression of solidarity with the ongoing campaign.
This year the event will be held at Doongalik Studios/Jackson Burnside Ltd., Village Road, on Thursday September 29, at 7 – 9 pm.
If you would like more information please call Ms. Glendina Joseph (Administrator) at 328-0922.
November will be recognized as Crisis Centre Month and we are hoping for strong volunteer participation so we can organize several events.
We welcome Ms. Glendina Joseph as our new Administrator and bid farewell to Mrs. Novelette Fox who worked hard for over five years at the Centre. Thanks, Novi, for your contribution! We wish you well in your future endeavours.
