The exhibition at the Mall at Marathon, in recognition of Child Protection Month, will be held on 24th April and the time for setting up will be announced soon. We would like all those volunteers who signed up to assist with the exhibition to keep in touch with the office to get more information as it becomes available.
Plans for the program to take brochures and other information to the beauty salons , barber shops and churches are progressing well and volunteers are being asked to pick up the information to take to salons and churches in their area.
A Fund Raising Drive will be launched at the same time as these activities and will focus mainly on raising funds for shelters for displaced women and children who are seen at the Centre.
And last, but not least, don’t forget the Circus is coming to town! More information will be given at the next meeting as the Crisis Centre will be involved.
April is recognized as Child Protection Month and this year the theme decided upon by The National Child Protection Council is “A Child’s Life is Precious, Take a Moment to Care” The Crisis Centre will be supporting the activities during the month and will also be mounting an exhibition in the Mall at Marathon at the end of April.
It is hoped that recognizing the month in this way, parents will be reminded that children need all our “moments to care”
I will post more information as it becomes available.
