The attendance at the meeting was at its lowest ever!

Jadetra updated those present on the upcoming exhibition at the Mall at Marathon which is to be mounted and held on Saturday, 24th April in recognition of Child Protection Month with the theme, A Child’s Life is Precious, Take a Moment to Care.  Volunteers who are willing to assist in mounting the exhibit should be at the Mall at 9am please.

The Circus itself will be held at the Kendal G.L. Isaacs Gymnasium and the Crisis Centre has been invited to participate by holding a raffle on Sunday 16 th May, the proceeds of which will go to the Crisis Centre.

For further information, please contact Novelette at the office. If the Crisis Centre is to hold a raffle, prizes are needed urgently. If any of our volunteers can obtain prizes which would be suitable, please let Novelette know.

We hope to see all our loyal volunteers at the next meeting, keeping in mind, too, that training is going to be taking place over the next few weeks. Meanwhile, we thank all those who assist in any way, particularly those who do Hotline Duty.

April is Child Protection Month

Firstly, wishing all our volunteers a peaceful and blessed Easter.

April is recognized as Child Protection Month and this year the theme decided upon by The National  Child Protection Council is “A Child’s Life is Precious, Take a Moment to Care”  The Crisis Centre will be supporting the activities during the month and will also be mounting an exhibition in the Mall at Marathon at the end of April.

It is hoped that recognizing the month in this way,  parents will be reminded that children need all our “moments to care”

I will post more information as it becomes available.
